Apart from smartphones, BIAS attacks can also damage HP, Lenovo, and Apple Macbook. Not only this, but it also has an equal threat on iPhones as well as Bluetooth headphones from Philips and Sennheiser.

• Testing on 31 Bluetooth devices

The researchers checked the BIAS attack on 31 Bluetooth devices from 28 unique Bluetooth chips taken from companies such as Apple, Qualcomm, Intel, Cypress, Broadcom, and others. In this testing, researchers found that there is a risk of BIAS attack on all devices.

• Attack on paired Bluetooth devices

Explaining how the smartphone bug works, the researchers said that it attacks paired Bluetooth devices. Any hacker can identify past devices paired with any smartphone and can easily authenticate it.

• Pairing code is not required

The worrying thing in this is that hackers do not even need the long pairing code of the primary device to pair the device. Hackers can also fully control other Bluetooth classic devices with the help of BIAS attack.

• Trying to fix the problem

Bluetooth SIG has been informed about this attack. The company has issued a statement saying that it is trying to correct this flaw. It is being told that Bluetooth SIG is updating its Bluetooth core specification. Along with this, while talking about the safety of users, the company said that users should always keep in mind that their device and operating system are working on the latest updated version.
